On-line Ordering Walk-Through

Ordering on-line can be an exercise in patience, and this walk-through is meant to lessen the frustration many web surfers experience in attempting to order the product they want, only to be non-plussed by the interface.

The first step to order on-line here at Juneau Rubber Stamp Co. (the custom stamp division of Juneau Rubber/Misty Mountain Stamp Co.) is deciding whether you would like a rubber stamp - the traditional wooden stamp that requires a separate ink pad to also be purchased - or a self-inking rubber stamp - which has the stamp pad built into the stamper, and operates via a flip-mechanism. The self-inking brand we use is TRODAT®. It is a tried and tested model that has the highest satisfaction rate of any self-inking brand we have carried.

What are the benefits of ordering a rubber stamp?

1. It is easier to change colors using a wood-mounted rubber stamp, as you only need to buy a different colored ink pad. You could also use several different colors and types of ink throughout the day with the same stamp, whereas the self-inking (TRODAT brand) stamps do not easily change colors and only provide basic color choices : black, red, blue, purple, and green.

2. Wood-mounted rubber stamps provide a more accurate placement if you need a stamp to fit within designated boundaries. For instance, if you were adding your fax number to a business card, but had only 1/8 of an inch in height in which to stamp, the rubber stamp would provide far greater accuracy, as you can actually SEE the die text and place it more accurately.

3. Since rubber stamps use stamp pads, that do not need to be re-inked as often as self-inking stamps, which generally need to be inked every 1000 impressions. Rubber stamps are often more desirable if you are stamping more than 500 hundred times a day.

4. Rubber stamps are usually cheaper than self-inking stamps.
The more lines of text you have, the greater the cost of your rubber stamp. If you have 4 or less lines, however, you would probably save money by buying a rubber stamp. Note that this does not include the stamp pad, which can cost anywhere from $5.00 to $10.00 in price and up.

5. Rubber stamps are the only stamps that may be used with permanent, quick-drying ink.
The ink dries too fast to put on a self-inking stamp. If you are stamping glossy brochures, plastic, or any non-porous surface, purchasing a rubber stamp and permanent, quick-drying ink will save you time, money, and hassle.

6. There are no moving or weak parts on a wood-mounted rubber stamp, and they are easy to clean (tap on damp paper towel, pick off lint with sticky tape, use on a stamp "scrubber" or with a soft-bristled toothbrush, pulling brush towards you)

So, what are the benefits of ordering a self-inking stamp?

1. A TRODAT self-inking stamp is much more convenient. With only one object to keep track of, the TRODAT stamp can be a handy addition to any home or office.

2. The TRODAT self-inking stamp has a consistent print every time you use it, but placing the stamper flatly on the paper, and using firm, even pressure. Using a rubber stamp can produce unwanted prints if applied at an angle.

3. The TRODAT self-inking stamp is less messy. With no direct contact with the ink pad, getting ink on your fingers is a thing of the past.

4. If you use your stamp less that 500 times a day, the TRODAT self-inking stamp will save you time (no separate stamp pad to open and close, or hunt for, and you will not have to move your stamp holding hand back and forth from inkpad to paper to inkpad.) Time is money.
